The tribesmen have reached their first All-Ireland hurling final since 2005, and this Sunday the men, women and children of Galway will be in Croker to cheer their team on.
While the jersey is of course the uniform of choice for many, a large number of Galway women are opting for an alternative outfit to show support for their county.
Irish-owned company Galway Girl have seen their cute t-shirts shoot to the top of wish-lists for Galway fans in recent week, and there is still time to get one ahead of the big game.
The t-shirts come in a variety of styles, whether you prefer to sport the traditional maroon and white of Galway or a sweet pastel shade that sports a slogan saying ‘Proud to be a Galway Girl’ or ‘Is Mise Galway Girl’.
Styles for men and children are also available, along with a variety of accessories.
Orders for the shirts can be made year-round through www.galwaygirl.com, but to ensure you have one in time for the final, Galway fans can purchase the line in store at OMG@Zhivago, Shop Street, Galway.
If the Galway team emerges victorious from the battle against Kilkenny this Sunday, it will be the first time in 24 years they will lift the Liam McCarthy Cup.
No doubt we’ll be hearing plenty of this over the weekend also…
