Eric Trump stupidly broke the law while voting for his father

Oops.

Donald Trump’s son, Eric Trump, is alleged to have violated New York State law when casting a vote for his father in the US Presidential election on Tuesday.

Trump posted a picture of the ballot paper on which he voted for his father on Twitter this morning, obviously oblivious to the fact that it is illegal to share a picture of an official election ballot in the state of New York.

The law surrounding polling station etiquette varies from state to state in the US (it is explained in further detail on CNN here), but in New York, where Eric Trump is registered to vote, it is a no-no.

Trump has since deleted the tweet, but this being the Internet, screengrabs began doing the rounds almost immediately afterwards.

Eric Trump’s boo-boo is not the first time his children have messed up their chances to throw their support behind their father.

Earlier this year, it emerged that both Eric and Ivanka hadn’t registered in time to vote in the Republican Party primary despite publicly urging others to do so.
