Brandon McGraw and his wife won a prize for a trip for two to Australia and the pair embarked on the expedition just last week.
According to Us Weekly, Brandon and his wife Cherilyn won the prize on the show back in January but didn’t use the prize until last week.
The pair, from North Carolina, booked the trip to Australia and went skydiving on Saturday.
TMZ reported that Cherilyn made a tandem jump while Gunnery Sgt. Brandon, who is a Marine and more experienced, followed behind her solo.
When Brandon jumped from the plane, his parachute caused him to veer right and left before crashing to the ground at approximately 300 feet, according to an employee at the diving school.
Cherilyn took a picture of Brandon before they jumped out of the aircraft. Brandon flashed a big smile while Cherilyn captured the pic with “my hero. My angel. These are truly such symbolic photos. He was happy and doing what he loved.”
Ellen herself or the show have yet to comment on the incident.
