The Dublin Rape Crisis Centre was one of a number of websites that were reportedly hacked over the weekend.
The sites, which also included that of a zoo and a furniture shop in California along with a number of other businesses, were allegedly hacked by a group claiming to be affiliated with Islamic State.
The hacking took over the banner image of each of the websites with the message: “Hacked by Islamic State (ISIS) We Are Everywhere :)”.

A song in Arabic also reportedly played in the background when people clicked onto the various sites.
The Dublin Rape Crisis Centre addressed the issue on Twitter on Sunday night stating:
Hi all thank you for the alerts about our website. We will have this fixed by tomorrow morning.

While in response to a query from The Irish Mirror, they added:
@IrishMirror Apparently it’s a WordPress hack not our website but it’s affecting the banner. Will be sorted by the morning.
