Danny Healy Rae says Noah’s Ark is “fact” and proof that climate change doesn’t exist

He insists - again - that God is in charge of the weather.

You couldn’t actually make this stuff up.

Independent Kerry TD Danny Healy Rae has some form when it comes to his views on climate change. You might remember in May of this year that he told the Dáil that “God controls the weather”?

“God above is in charge of the weather and we here can’t do anything about it,” he said during a debate on climate change.

Now Healy Rae has added to his views on the issue.

In a interview with ‘Hot Press’, he again stated that God is in charge of the weather, citing the Old Testament tale of Noah’s Ark as evidence.

“I’m basing my views on facts,” he said. “The facts are there and history proves it. We had the Ice Age. We had Noah’s Ark. We had all those stories. We’ve proof of the Famine in 1740, which was caused by two years of incessant rain.

“There were some centuries when the country was very hot… and then there were different centuries with so much rain and cold. So, those are facts.”

When the interviewer, Jason O’Toole, points out that passages from the Bible are not proven facts, Healy Rae replies:

“The first thing I have to say to you, I never read all the Bible. But I found the Bible to be correct in many instances. I do believe that there is a God there and I believe that there is some place after. I was brought up that way, Jason.”

Needless to say, people are having fun with the TD’s latest remarks.
