Dublin Bikes subscriptions are about to get way more expensive

Enjoy the price at the moment while it lasts.

If you’re living in Dublin City, or just visiting for the day, the Dublin Bikes can be a great way to get around the city with ease.

They’ve got so many docking bays dotted around the city and they were very affordable for the year.

That is about to change, unfortunately.

According to The Irish Times, the price of subscriptions is about to increase by 50 percent.

The reasoning for this is because Dublin City Council used to subvent the scheme, but they can no longer afford to do so.

When the scheme was first launched in 2009, it cost just €10 per year and that increased to €20 in 2013. The new plan is to increase the amount to €25 this year and €30 next year.

The new price increase won’t affect the three-day subscription or the per hour rates.
