Best-known for his role as Chekov in the new Star Trek reboots, Yelchin died at the age of 27.
According to ABC News, Yelchin’s publicist, Jennifer Allen, confirmed the news.
Yelchin, an only child, moved to the US from Russia as a baby.
He starred in various television shows, before landing film roles in the crime thriller Alpha Dog and the teenage comedy Charlie Bartlett.
Police suspect no foul play and Yelchin’s family has requested privacy at this time.
