An Airbus A320 has reportedly crashed in the southern French Alps.
According to the local newspaper in the area La Provence, there were 142 passengers, two pilots and four cabin crew on board the flight from Dusseldorf to Barcelona.
It has been reported that the plane crashed near the valley of Haute-Bléone in the region of Digne.

French Prime Minister Manuel Valls confirmed to reporters that the Germanwings Airbus was carrying at least 148 people. French President Francois Hollande “the conditions of the accident are not yet clear” but added that no survivors were expected.
The crash happened at about 10:30 a.m. in mountainous terrain near Prads-Haute-Bléone. The location of the crash is expected to make it very difficult for rescue operations to access the scene.
