Berkeley survivor Niall Murray has spoken out about the tragedy which claimed the lives of six other Irish students.
The 21-year-old was one of the seven injured in the balcony collapse which happened back in June.
He told media outside the California hospital where he has spent weeks undergoing physical rehabilitation that he will always remember that night.
“I’ll always remember that night. Our friends, we’ll miss you, we will always remember you, and someday we look forward to seeing you again,” he said.

“I remember the night, the only thing I don’t remember is how I hit the ground… I remember waking up in the emergency room.”
When asked by a reporter whether he felt fortunate, Niall responded: “I feel very fortunate. I felt quite guilty when I woke up.”
Niall – who was in a wheelchair with bandages on his arms – also thanked all of the volunteers, hospital staff and fundraisers who have helped out over the last few months.
A criminal investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
