A pregnant woman has been killed in New York City after she was struck by a snow plough.
Min Lin and her husband were loading groceries into the boot of their car when the tragic incident occurred.
Lin was struck by a vehicle with a private hire snow plough attached to it, as it backed up in the rear car park of a supermarket in Brooklyn.
The 36-year-old’s baby boy, who was almost full term, has been successfully delivered by Caesarean section.
Police said the woman was rushed to Maimonides Medical Centre where she was declared dead.
According to Sky News a spokeswoman for the hospital said the baby was in a critical condition in the neonatal intensive care unit, weighing 6lb 6oz.
The father of the boy escaped injury in the accident and the driver has not been charged.
