TD Mary Lou McDonald has stated that she will take on a debate with Tánaiste Joan Burton “anytime, anyplace”.
Her statement was in response to the Labour Leader’s challenge to a debate on the economy at the upcoming conference in Killarney.
“A lot of ordinary people are deeply bitter and disappointed at what they see as a betrayal by the Labour Party,” she said to reporters today.
“The Tánaiste is no stranger to exaggeration herself and has strayed very, very far from the election promises that were made in 2011, and she knows that full well,” she continued.
“I would welcome a debate – at anytime, anyplace.
