A 15-year-old boy was found seriously injured in Alperton, West London last night. Paramedics fought to save him at the scene, but he died from the injuries sustained shortly after.
Reports by RTÉ state the Scotland Yard said the teenager was using a hoverboard or balance scooter when the incident happened. It is not known whether the boy was on the road or the pavement.
Safety concerns over the use of the hoverboards have increased. The boards have been banned in many cities around the world and earlier this month more than 1,000 were seized over fears they could burst into flames.
The gadgets cost upwards of €350.
