Ryan McBride, who was the Derry City football captain, has died at the age of 27.
The Twitter account for the Irish Football Association confirmed the news last night.

It’s understood that Ryan was found dead at his home on Sunday evening but the circumstances surrounding his death are not yet known.
According to RTÉ, he played against Drogheda on Saturday, helping his team achieve a 4-0 victory.
He joined the club in 2011 and has been captain since 2015.
Ryan’s former teammate and Irish international player James McClean is said to be excused from training this week to attend the funeral.
