A 10-month-old baby girl was rescued by the coastguard in Turkey this week after she floated almost half a mile out to sea on an inflatable flotation device.
The baby was pulled out on the inflatable device by the strong wind and currents, and the coastguard were called after beachgoers were unable to bring the child back to safety.
According to reports, the family had sat little Melda IIgin in the flotation device and had allegedly been settling themselves in on the beach when they realized to their horror that she was no longer where they had left her.
Little Melda was resuced safely and reunited with her family a short time later.
