It seems like it’s not just Russell Brand and Geri Halliwell who’s reported relationship is currently on the rocks, apparently Florence Welch, of Florence+The Machine, has split from her boyfriend James Nesbitt.
According to reports, friends were convinced that Florence and James could go the distance, but the singer has parted ways with the events planner after fifteen months because she didn’t want to be tied down.
“They had a great time together and it did look like the relationship was going to go the distance. But Florence’s work schedule continues to be gruelling and she embarks on an American tour next month to promote her second album. James also has a hectic schedule with his events company in the UK and they struggled to find time to see each other,” said a source, speaking to the Sunday Mirror.
According to reports, the singer didn’t want to be tied down anymore.
“Flo knows she really needs to concentrate on her career and couldn’t really give the relationship the time it needed to work. So they’ve split,” the source added.
James, Florence’s now ex, is no stranger to celebrity romances. In the past he dated Radio 1 DJ Fearne Cotton and singer Paloma Faith, but everyone was convinced Florence and him were meant to be, even his mother!
“I would often ask him if he’d live with his girlfriend for the rest of his life and he’d always say ‘no’ but he hasn’t said that about Florence,” his mammy told the paper.
Well, Florence may want to be single for the time being, but we bet she’ll be practically hitting the fellas off her with a stick.
