Jape has released a powerful video for his latest single ahead of the release of his long-awaited fifth album.
‘Seance of Light’ is the second single taken from Jape’s upcoming album This Chemical Sea.
This Chemical Sea was produced by David Wrench who has notably worked on the recent albums of FKA Twigs, Jungle and Glass Animals.
Up-and-coming Irish director, Dave Tynan, previously best-known for his short film Just Sayin’, directed the five-minute long video that is based on a short story ‘Bleached’ by writer Dave Rudden.
“If you’d asked me who would I like to make my first music video for, my answer would have been Jape,” Tynan said.
“So for that to happen makes me feel very lucky. I wanted it to be a Dublin story and Richie was up for that too. I can’t take credit for the concept. It’s adapted from a short story by the writer Dave Rudden.
“I’m massively grateful Dave let us mutate his words into something else. He’s too young to be that talented and he nails his cameo too. We’d an added bonus that Richie was as open minded as he was. Just a really nice collaboration across the whole thing. ”
This Chemical Sea is released this Friday January 23rd, ‘Seance of Light‘ is available to download now.
