Well played, White. Well Played.

Many have raved about Jack White’s performances from both the Bonnaroo Festival and his stint here at a packed Royal Hospital Kilmainham last month, but according to reports all the shows have now been overshadowed by his very special Glastonbury set.

The White Stripes frontman rocked his set at the infamous British festival over the weekend and gave a nod to somewhat controversial headliners, Metallica, by performing that unmistakable riff of legendary hit, ‘Enter Sandman’.

White doesn’t actually sing any of the track but teases the crowd mid performance of his own song, ‘Cannon’.

After Metallica were announced as a headlining act it caused a bit of a media frenzy as many speculated that the group didn’t fit the vibe of the festival.

Watch White’s performance here in full; skip to the 45-minute mark to watch the band’s heavy metal joke with the audience.

Well played, lads. Well played.
