Victoria Beckham Reportedly Feels “Emotionally Blackmailed” by The Spice Girls

Uh-oh...one Spice Girl isn't exactly thrilled at the prospects of an Olympic Games reunion...

While most of us are thrilled about the fact that the Spice Girls are reported to be performing at the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games, it seems that one person isn’t too happy about the entire thing.

The Irish Independent reports that Posh Spice herself, Victoria Beckham, is reportedly “worried” about the rumoured reunion with her old band mates and she feels like she has been “emotionally blackmailed” into performing with the group for one last time.

Eh…emotionally blackmailed? Yes…we’re confused too…

According to reports, Victoria is worried that the reunion with Mel B, Mel C, Geri and Emma will severely damage her reputation as a fashionista and a style icon. Victoria is said to be feeling “forced” into performing for one last time.

“Victoria’s not happy about it. She thinks it could make a mockery of everything she’s worked so hard to do. She’s been saying: ‘I can’t sing and I can’t dance anymore.’ She doesn’t want or need to be known as a Spice Girl now,” said a source, speaking to Closer magazine.

“She says she feels ‘emotionally blackmailed.’ She can’t back out without causing a fuss, which she knows will make her look bad, so she feels like she has to do it,” the source added.

The Spice Girls announced their split back in 2000, although they did reunite for a short tour in 2007. It’s a well-known fact that in the years following the band’s initial reunion, Victoria has always made it clear that she has no interest in taking to the stage with the girls again. However, it seems as if Victoria has accepted that she’ll have to play the Olympics as a one-off gig.

“She’s got New York Fashion Week coming up and is already working around the clock, so the timing is bad. In public she’s having to be gracious about the honour and [husband] David is telling her to accept it and try to enjoy it,” said the source.

“But she worries criticism of her performance could damage her fashion brand’s reputation,” the source added.
