“There Didn’t Seem Any Point” – X Factor Winner Dropped From Label

The curse of the talent show has struck again!

X Factor winner Alexandra Burke has been dropped from her record company.

The singer, who won the show back in 2008, and her record label RCA apparently went their separate ways last month.

Alexandra won The X Factor back in 2008.

According to the Daily Mail a source revealed that both sides were “unhappy” with each other before adding: “There didn’t seem any point in continuing.”

Apparently the decision was made after a meeting between the 24-year-old singer and record executives. A spokesman revealed: “We were in negotiations with Alexandra over continuing her relationship with RCA.

“However, the two sides had differing views over the best creative path for Alexandra to take. As a result, both sides have parted amicably.”

She had some big hits in her early career.

After winning the show and signing to Simon Cowell’s Syco label, Burke had considerable success. Her debut album went to number one and included four chart-topping singles. She then moved to RCA but her latest album has failed to make an impression in the charts.

Burke, who has just signed a new management deal with Kevin Liles, is said to be keen to release a third album this year despite having no record deal.

And while she is the latest X Factor winner to be dropped by her label, she isn’t the first. Steve Brookstein, Shayne Ward and Joe McElderry all suffered the same fate.
