The Vaccines have certainly been busy lately and we don’t mean working on their new album which is due out next week, we mean laying into other music acts.
The Indie band has had a go at the Princess of pop, and China, Rihanna for having a team working behind her.
Freddie Cowan, who is the guitar player in the group, told Digital Spy: ‘Rihanna isn’t an artist – she has 15 writers, 15 songwriters and 15 producers all fighting for space on her albums and she’s the face of it. I have nothing against it, but I don’t want to be associated with it.’

‘Rihanna isn’t an artist’ was one of the many remarks made.
And the catty remarks didn’t stop there, he also seemed to lay into Coldplay for working with the chart-topping and might we add award-winning singer.
Speaking of their duet on ‘Princess of China’, he said: ‘I’ve never heard that song, but it’s Coldplay – they’ll do whatever they can to be the biggest band on earth, to be bigger than U2.’

Coldplay were also brought into the conversation with Freddie Cowan.
However for the British band, Freddie did reign in his criticisms by admitting: ‘They do it really well and they’re never put out a bad album so hats off to them.’
Speaking of albums, The Vaccines new one ‘Come of Age’ is out on September 3. The band is also playing Electric Picnic this weekend.
Hmm, the outburst seems a little too convenient now doesn’t it?
