The Sunday Sessions // O Emperor

Time for another great performance from an Irish act...

Her

O Emperor are five old school friends from Waterford, who grew up playing together in various bands.

Alan Comerford, Brendan Fennessy, Paul Savage, Phil Christie and Richie Walsh released their debut album Hither Thither in 2010, which was shortlisted for the prestigious Choice Music Prize Irish Album of the Year.

Since then, O Emperor have forged a phenomenal reputation for their live performances and have shared the stage with the likes of MGMT, Spoon and Villagers. Second album Vitreous received a similarly rapturous reception and gained another Choice Music Prize nomination.

Released in March 2015, latest EP Lizard stays true to the band’s unabashed and innovative nature and we were delighted to welcome them to The Workman’s Club recently to perform their track Switchblade and a cover of The Velvet Underground’s Sunday Morning.
