If you’re a massive fan of The Script, we have some excellent news for you today. The guys have just announced that they’ll be kicking off a major arena tour next year, and of course, they’ll be starting it in Ireland.
The band are planning on playing 12 dates in total, starting with a show in Dublin’s The O2 on March 1st. If you’re not in Dublin however, don’t worry because they’ll also be doing a show in Belfast. And hey, if you feel like travelling, you can always catch them in Newcastle, Aberdeen, Manchester, Birmingham and London.
“We want to do a few small shows first – maybe 1,000 seaters and then we are going to go to New York to play Radio City Hall and start a tour of America – deep end. And then we’re going to come back in February or March and do some shows here,” said Mark Sheehan, the band’s guitarist.
It’s been an epic week for The Script as not only did they announce the new tour, they also landed their first UK number 1 single and their new album debuted at number 2 in this week’s album chart. Not bad, right?

Frontman Danny O’Donoghue has become a celeb after appearing on The Voice.
The band’s frontman, Danny O’Donoghue, has also become even more of a celebrity since he began appearing on reality TV talent show The Voice.
“Ultimately I understand it but that still doesn’t make it easy. I went from literally being a nobody and now I can’t walk down the bloody road anymore,” said Danny.
“It feels like after all these years people are finally recognising us for what we want to be recognised for. There’s never going to be a serious muso piece in Hello! They just want to know who we’re dating, who you’ve kicked out of bed, all this b*****ks. But, it helps you understand there’s a different side to the industry,” he added.
