Our favourite gents from Mullingar, The Academic, have announced a gig in the capital city and we couldn’t be any happier.
The four-piece, made up of frontman Craig Fitzgerald, Dean Gavin on drums, and brothers Stephen and Matt Murtagh on bass and lead guitar, have been on our radar for a while now and we are expecting huge things from them.
This summer the lads are set to play their first international festival later this summer having been announced amongst the line up of the famous Benicassim Festival in Spain.
Forming back in 2011, The Academic spent the majority of the last 12 months writing material and 2014 is shaping up to be quite the year.
The group & special guests will play Dublin’s Grand Social on July 17th – Doors 8.30pm and tickets are priced €8.
The Academic have already been confirmed as the support for The Pixies at Live At The Marquee on June 30th, alongside slots at Longitude Festival and Indiependence.
