Rihanna looks set to be the queen of the MTV Europe Music Awards with her six nominations but Emeli Sandé is the lady dominating the MOBO Awards with an incredible five nods.

The ‘Next To Me’ singer is in the running for five awards including Best UK Female, Best Video and Best Song proving that she has made quite an impression on the world of music during the last year. Now that really is something that’s worth singing, shouting and screaming about!

And she’s not the only one who will be looking forward to the awards. Plan B also earned five nominations including Best UK Male. The British star certainly has his work cut out in this category as he is up against Professor Green and Ed Sheeran.

The nominations also highlight the influence of the X Factor on the music industry. Rebecca Ferguson is up for Best UK Female while Misha B is in with a chance of taking home the award for Best Newcomer and JLS will be hoping ‘Do You Feel What I Feel’ will earn them the Best Video title.

Guess ratings aren’t everything then! Speaking of the talent show, one of this year’s guest judges Rita Ora is up for four awards on the night while her American counterpart Rihanna will be battling against Beyoncé, Ne-Yo and Nicki Minaj for Best International Act.
