So it's still another three months away but Sinead O'Connor has already sung a couple of festive tunes, all in the name of charity.

This Christmas you can expect to hear not only the wonderful sounds of The Pogues, Wizard and all the rest but also those of Sinead O’Connor.

The singer has recorded two songs for the John Murray Show’s Christmas album to help spread awareness about depression.

Sinead has always been involved in encouraging those who are struggling with depression to get help and support.

Sinead has used her fame to influence those suffering from depression.

Proceeds from the record, which the 45 year old described as ‘wicked’ on Twitter, will go to the charity Aware.

With the help of The Coronas guitarist Danny O’Reilly and RTÉ, Sinead recorded ‘When A Child Is Born’ and ‘Once in Royal David’s City.’

The album is due out in November so if you don’t get it yourself, why not add it onto you Christmas list?
