One Direction, The Script and Of Course Taylor Swift: The Brit Award Nominations Are Out

First the Oscars and now the Brit Awards: the next few weeks are going to be crazy!

Rebecca McKnight

Next month is going to be very busy what with all the music and film award ceremonies that are taking place but one we are very excited about are the Brit Awards, mainly because both Taylor Swift and Harry Styles might be there.

One Direction are up for Best Group while Taylor (who seems to be winning awards all the time) is in with a chance of taking home the Best International Female title but will have to see off Rihanna, Alicia Keys, Cat Power and Lana Del Rey to do so.

One Direction could go home with the Best Group Award next month.

But while she might be the one to provide a bit of gossip on the night, Emeli Sandé is really the woman to watch having been nominated four times.

The Next To Me star got nods for Best Album and Best Single as well as Best Female where she will go up against Amy Winehouse who received a posthumous nomination.

Singer Emeli led the way with four nods and looks set to have another great year.

Mumford & Sons are another act who look set to have a good night having been put forward for Best Group and Best Album. They will have to see off strong competition from the Rolling Stones if they are to bag the Best Live Act as well.

Speaking of hotly-contested categories the award for Best International Group will be fought out by Irish group The Script, The Black Keys, Alabama Shakes, The Killers and FUN.

The Script will be hoping to bag the Best International Group Brit.

For a full list of the Brit Award nominations, visit their website. Winners will be announced on February 20th.
