Here in the Her.ie offices, there’s nothing we love more than a good musical collaboration. So we were pretty intrigued when we heard there was talk of Danny O’Donoghue, lead singer of The Script, and Jessie J joining forces for a track.
Yes, apparently Danny has a bit of a musical crush on Jessie J and is going mad to work with his fellow The Voice judge. In fact, the singer has admitted that he wants to pen a special break-up track specifically for Jessie J.
“Jessie was saying that lyrically on her next album she wants to articulate the break-up she went through, so I was like, ‘Come to me. No one can write love songs like me,’” said Danny.
“I would love to write with her – her voice is incredible. She has the whole world in her hands,” he gushed.
Danny wants to collaborate with his fellow judge on The Voice, Jessie J.
Is it just us or is his adoration of Ms J actually kind of cute? It’s nice to see that famous musicians also get star struck like us mere mortals every now and then, huh?
Danny also revealed that getting the chance to record a track with Will.I.Am has been the highlight of his career so far and has opened up massive opportunities for him.
“It was awesome. I’ve been a fan of his and The Black Eyed Peas for over 10 years. When I got The Voice [job] I was really excited about befriending him,” said Danny.
“He’s all about the music, like me, and not pretentious. He loves our band too, so that’s really cool,” he added.
