Hey Jude: Paul McCartney Admits That He Sometimes Forgets His Own Lyrics…

Paul McCartney is a prime example that even the most professional musicians can forget the words to a song, even if they're the ones that have written it...

When it comes to well-known songs, the lyrics to Hey Jude by The Beatles aren’t exactly that hard to remember, are they? Sure isn’t most of the song made up of a few ‘na-na-na’ type sounds? But there is one person who’s been having trouble with it…

The Irish Sun reports that Paul McCartney, yes the man who actually penned the song, has admitted that he occasionally forgets the lyrics, despite the fact that he has been singing the tune since 1968. Eh…okay…

The good news, however, is that his fans don’t seem to mind if he suddenly starts singing the wrong words – in fact, they just sing louder to drown out his wrong lyrics.

“It’s funny. I sometimes forget those. It’s a devilish lyric. I occasionally do forget them. But the great thing is, I used to panic about that, but I realise now that the audience don’t mind,” said Paul, speaking recently.

“In fact, the quite like it. They’re at the show where I forgot the words, and it makes that show special,” the former-Beatle added.

But Paul isn’t the only professional singer to forget his own lyrics. Oh no. Sheryl Crowe, Ashlee Simpson and Britney Spears have all mixed up their words on stage before.

And, do you want to hear something even worse? Christina Aguilera once forgot the words to the National Anthem while she was singing at the Superbowl. Morto for her, like.

Have you ever been at a gig where the performer forgot the lyrics?
