He may well know and love a few angels but they’re not the ones helping him to write his new single.

In fact it has been reported that Robbie Williams is relying on his old pal and former Take That band mate Gary Barlow for lyrical inspiration.

The pair, who also worked on the song ‘Shame’ together, are combining their efforts for Robbie’s new single ‘Candy’ which is due out next month.

It won’t be the first time the two have worked with each other on a single.

It will be the first song from the 38 year old’s ninth studio album ‘Take The Crown’ also set to hit the shelves later this year.

Speaking about the song-writing process, Robbie admitted, ‘Some songs take an age to write and some songs just fall out of your mouth completely formed, and you don’t have to think about it.’

And then some songs are written with the help of a very talented song-writing friend!

Gary Barlow writes songs for many other artists including Westlife.
