Another great day out in Stradbally.
First thing this morning it was shaping up to be a very wet day out in Electric Picnic. The rain was non-stop with no sign of letting up but luckily by lunch time it began to clear and everyone was able to explore and find out what day two had to offer.
The rain stayed away for most of the day with the odd shower every so often – nothing a poncho and some wellies couldn’t handle.
In terms of music, it got off to a flying start when Hozier surprised everyone and joined the Trinity Orchestra on the main stage for one song – Heroes. It was absolutely incredible.
We were lucky enough be there to see the whole performance.
The main stage had one of the best full line-ups of the weekend with the likes of Hermitage Green, Lightning Seeds, Gavin James, Bell X1 playing there. Still to come are Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds and the headliners LCD Soundsystem.

Other areas attracted huge crowds such as Walking on Cars in the Electric Arena and The Rubberbandits in the Comedy Tent. People were packed into the tents with hundreds listening from outside.

We’re fond of a great cover and there were some stellar performances today that deserve a mention. Firstly, Wyvern Lingo covered Destiny’s Child – seriously amazing.
Then later on, in the same tent, Jack Garrett pulled off a brilliant rendition of Fresh Prince of Bel Air.

Each evening there is a surprise act at the 3Live penthouse and tonight’s was none other than Gavin James. They also welcome different DJ each day to take to the decks with TodayFM’s Ed Smith getting the crowd going earlier in the day.

There were some classic throwback tunes being belted out by ’80s pop legends Bananarama in Electric Ireland’s Throwback Pary.

Years and Years will be hitting the Electric Arena tent later on which is sure to top off an already incredible day.
Tomorrow brings the last day and some top acts like James Bay, Picture This, Editors and of course the lady that will close the whole festival – Lana Del Rey.
See you back bright and early for more Electric Picnic madness. Make sure to follow us on Snapchat (Her.ie) and Instagram (Herdotie) for instant updates throughout the day.
