Are you heading down to Stradbally Estate for Electric Picnic this weekend? If so, we have a word of advice for you – make sure you pack some t-shirts and your favourite pair of sunglasses because the weather is set to be scorching!
No, we promise this isn’t some cruel joke. According to weather forecasters the weekend will see sun, sun and more sun. Warm weather, a great festival buzz and not a bit of slushy muck in sight – sure what more could you want?
The Irish Sun reports that while there will be some cloudy conditions on Friday as picnic goers are trying to set up camp for the weekend’s festivities, the weather will improve dramatically as the days progress.
Apparently Saturday and Sunday will see temperatures hitting a lovely 21?C, so kick back and enjoy the sunshine while you can.
That being said, forecasters have said that there are likely to be some showers in between the sunny spells, so it’s probably a good idea to have an emergency umbrella-ella-ella on hand just in case.
More than 30,000 music fans are expected to descend on the Stradbally Estate in county Laois for Electric Picnic this weekend. Some of the biggest acts taking to the stage include The Cure, The Killers, Elbow and Orbital, and some famous faces are also expected to join the crowds at the festival (Cat Deeley and Louis Walsh are rumoured to be in attendance, don’t ya know!).

There’ll be sunshine all weekend for Electric Picnic.
Meanwhile, a top audiologist has warned music fans to take care of their hearing at the event.
“The message to Electric Picnic festival-goers is simple. Don’t stand too close to the speakers and give your ears a break from the noise from time to time,” said Keith Ross from Hidden Hearing.
Mr Ross warned that extended periods of exposure to high-decibel noise can lead to irreversible hearing loss, so if you’ve had enough music, it’s probably best to explore some of the quieter areas of the Picnic.
Sun, great tunes and the possible chance of doing a bit of festival moshing with Louis Walsh – is this year’s Electric Picnic shaping up to be the best one yet? And, more importantly, are you going?
