A special festival is set to take place in Dublin later this month for those who were planning to attend the five Garth Brooks concerts in the city.
Over 400,000 Garth Brooks fans were left devastated earlier this week when it was confirmed that the planned Croke Park concerts would not go ahead due to licensing issues but according to the Irish Times, efforts are now underway to establish a festival for the weekend of the gigs.
It’s believed that Fáilte Ireland is working with the Department of Tourism to put together a country music festival that will “specifically target people who had booked accommodation for the shows”.
Fáilte Ireland’s Dublin director Orla Carroll said that the event “would be a bit of hoedown”, with free events to ease the disappointment for the 70,000 who had booked to travel to Dublin for the Friends In Low Places star’s shows.
