Leona Lewis may have been off the radar for the past few months, but she’s been keeping herself busy. In fact, she’s been gearing up for the comeback to end all comebacks if rumours are to be believed.

The Irish Independent reports that Leona is determined to get herself back into the spotlight in the coming weeks and firmly believes that her new single is set to be a massive hit.

Leona teamed up with Scottish musician Emeli Sande for her new single ‘Trouble’ which the music industry has already claimed will storm the charts. Sande is reported to have co-written the track with Leona and the song is an attempt to help the X-Factor winner shake off her ‘safe’ ballad image.

Leona’s latest offering will also feature Childish Gambino, the rapper, in an attempt to show her fans that she has a new image and a new musical style.

“Trouble tells the story of love going bad and becoming destructive, aspects of which we can all relate to. It’s a deeply emotional song that I have a real connection to,” said Leona, speaking to The Star.

“I wanted someone who was creative and poetic and witty and Childish ticks all those boxes and complements the record perfectly,” she added.

The singer’s third album, Glassheart, was originally supposed to be released last November however, for unknown reasons, it was delayed by almost a year. It will now be out in October.

Sonny Takhar, the MD of Sony Music, has said that he has confidence in Leona’s new release.

“Retail pre-order figures are fantastic and that’s really encouraging,” he said.

He also described Lewis’ upcoming album as a “global priority.”

What do you think? Will you be rushing out to buy Leona’s latest offering?
