If, like us, you scream and make a beeline towards the dance floor when the DJ starts playing some dodgy 90s tracks, you’ll be overjoyed with the following news.
A string of old-school pop groups are set to reunite for a once-off gig. Yes, really. You might want to bust out your dancing shoes women, because once you hear the line-up you’ll be dying to get your hands on some tickets.
The Daily Star Sunday reports that Atomic Kitten, Liberty X, 5ive, B*Witched and Another Level are reforming for a special gig almost a decade after they first hit the charts. Is this amazing or what?
Unfortunately, the bands will only be playing one show at London’s O2 arena next March, but seriously – wouldn’t it make for a perfect girly weekend getaway with the girls? We definitely think so.
“All of them had number ones and were selling out tours year in, year out. People love a bit of nostalgia so this concert will be a massive success,” said an insider.
According to reports, the weeks leading up to the gig will be filmed for a new ITV2 reality show called The Big Reunion.
Now, we know it’s a bit crap that the show isn’t coming to Ireland, but if you fancy a bit of Sunday afternoon nostalgia, here are our favourite songs from the bands in question…
Atomic Kitten: ‘The Tide is High’:
This was the soundtrack to our childhood summers and you know as soon as you hear the opening strains of this song, you just can’t help belting it out.
Liberty X: ‘Just a Little’:
We still know all the words to this song and have been known to pull some sweet, sweet dance moves every time we hear it on the radio. We’re not ashamed to admit it.
5ive: ‘Slam Dunk da Funk’:
Did you have a ridiculous crush on Abs as well?
B*Witched: ‘C’est La Vie’:
Sure, we complained about the double denim, but when we went to see them in concert when they played The Point back in the day, we totes embraced the trend.
Another Level: ‘Bomb Diggy’:
The lyrics are absolutely filthy, but despite that we still shamelessly sang along every time it came on the radio.
