An Irish short film has picked up an award at the prestigious Sundance Film Festival.
Irish Folk Furniture, directed by Tony Donoghue, collected the award for Best Animation at the Utah festival which is popular among the Hollywood elite.
The film, about repairing and recycling traditional furniture, was selected from over 8,000 applications and is going strong on Youtube.
Speaking about it, Donoghue told the Evening Herald: “This is a bit of a surprise… Sundance is one of the most prestigious and competitive film festivals in north America.”
