Being a broadcaster isn’t all it’s cracked up to be apparently
10. Broadcaster: It looks like a glitzy job. You get to be on television, you get to attend events and, surely, if you’re on the telly then chances are you get paid well, right? The reality is very different. Unless you’re a TV station’s main talent, chances are, your wages won’t be that great. Broadcasters have to work long, irregular hours (think early mornings, late nights and weekends) and even when you’re not in the studio, you’re still working (attending events, making appearances etc.).
9. Butcher: This is seriously labour-intensive work. It’s also not very nice. You’ll be dealing with dead animals on a daily basis, you’ll be working hard and you’ll struggle to get the blood out of your clothing.
8. Dishwasher: If you really hate doing the dishes after a meal, then this is one job you should definitely avoid. You’ll be stuck in a very busy kitchen and you’ll not only be cleaning your own dishes, you’ll be cleaning everyone elses as well.
7. Meter Reader: This job is exactly what it sounds like. You’ll get to go out and about, but sadly you’ll just be going to places to read meters. Lots and lots of meters.

Waitressing is a tough job with long hours
6. Waiter/waitress: This job was ranked as the sixth worse job in the world for the long hours, the bad pay, dealing with rude customers on a daily basis, constantly running around and having to work hard in order to earn small tips.
5. News Paper Reporter: Journalism seems like an exciting career move but in reality it’s a tough, cutthroat industry. The hours are long and anti-social, it’s hard to progress, opportunities are slim and your job can involve a certain element of danger (especially if you’re a war reporter).
4. Oil Rig Worker: Working on an oil rig can get pretty lonely. You’re miles away from land, you’re isolated and you have to spend every waking moment on the rig. You have to do intense manual labour and you have limited contact with your friends and family back home.

Being in the military can be dangerous, especially if you get called into combat
3. Enlisted Military Personnel: No one ever wants to go to war but if you’re an enlisted member of the military and war breaks out, it’s your duty to go and defend your country. This job has a high level of risk, it requires a lot of time away from home and it can be hard to settle back into a normal life once you’ve finally been discharged.
2. Dairy Famer: Your life will revolve around your cows. You’ll have to endure early mornings, late nights, weekend work and intense manual labour. Farming, as any farmer will tell you, is definitely not all it’s crack up to be.
1. Lumberjack: Do you think you could spend your life cutting down trees and dealing with dizzying heights? Could you cope with life-threatening situations if a tree falls down the wrong way? No? Us neither…
