Would you welcome the chance to revel at a festival where there are strictly no boys aloud?
A new event in the UK this summer will be the country’s first female-only festival.
Woman Fest is set to welcome up to 400 women, girls and anyone who identifies as female for a weekend of feminist fun.
Rather than catching big-name headliners, festival-goers will be encouraged to get involved in what’s to be a “radical participation festival.”
They can enjoy music, poetry, “ancient, nature-based crafts” like cloth-making, an outdoor spa, holistic therapies, vegetarian food and even a ‘Red tent’ for women who are “on their moon”.
Woman Fest, according to its founder Tiana Jacout, “will celebrate women’s creativity and potential: it’s all about realising what we can do and what we can be.
“Instead of people saying, I paid for a ticket now I’m going to be entertained, we’re asking them to think about what they can contribute: what’s the gift, knowledge, craft or skill they can share,” she told The Guardian.
“The timing feels right. There’s a beautiful wave of female empowerment happening right now, and this is about taking that a stage further.”
Organised by an all-female team, it takes place on a farm in Somerset in August.
All profits will be donated to Tree Sisters, an organisation that works to fight tropical deforestation.
