Sarah McKenna Barry

Many people urged her to report her neighbour.

A woman on TikTok has explained why she keeps the curtains of her home closed after sharing a video on the platform.

The start of the video shows Lucy.2481 facing the front camera head on.

The message across the screen reads: “People always ask me why my curtains are always closed”.

In the next shot, the camera slowly zooms in on her neighbour who has climbed a shrub to peer into her home. Once he spots the camera, he retreats.

The video, which was shared at the end of July, now has almost one million views.

In the comments, many urged the woman to seek help.

One TikTok user wrote: “Straight to the police with that. Put a stop to it.”

Another suggested that she get a privacy film. They explained: “You can see through it, but nobody can see in.”

One TikTok user shared that they had a similar experience. They wrote: “I have a neighbor just likes this! I can’t even go outside without him staring at me and watching me!”

Another person wrote: “At lest I’m not the only one. My neighbour pops her head out the window or looks through our gate, she even has a camera to look into our garden.”

While many urged her to go the police, some wrote that they might not be able to help her.

“They won’t do anything,” one person wrote. “They don’t care. My male neighbour filmed my bedroom window for a month. They did NOTHING.”
