There is nothing worse than being stood up on a date.
We’ve all been there: spending the day deliberating over what to wear and where to go. Fantasising over what the person might be like, and trying all day to calm your nerves and stomach in the run up to the date is a triumph of will and might.
You confide in your closest friends, who are just as excited for you, and then half an hour before you’re expected to meet your future husband, he cancels, makes a lame excuse, and you kiss that barefoot beach wedding goodbye. So rude.
When Laura Bull from Queensland in Australia was stood up at the last minute on a Tinder date, she decided to take matters into her own hands.

Instead of turning into a woman scorned and unleashing all kinds of fury, Laura decided to make lemonade out of lemons, slapped on some lipstick, and took herself on a date.
The mum-of-one took to Facebook throughout her date in an attempt to inspire other women to become the masters of their own destiny.
“This is the third time I have had a date cancel last minute-one didn’t even let me know-but instead of letting it upset me I got dressed up and took myself out,” she told the Daily Mail.
If her photos are anything to go by, she had the perfect date. Laura chilled at the park, went to the beach (even caught some nudists), and had a swim all in the comfort of her own fabulous company.
Just before heading home, she decided to go to a restaurant alone, something she admits she has never done before.
“I went to a restaurant in the middle of Noosa with a big balcony and the waitress was actually quite rude…she looked at me like I was speaking another language when I said I wanted a table for one. I’ve never taken myself out for dinner before but it was so beautiful watching everyone down below and I’m so glad I stayed”
Guuuuurrl, we’re elated that you’ve decided to treat yourself: eating alone in a restaurant is one of life’s greatest pleasures. We just hope you don’t leave it too long before you spoil yourself rotten again.
