There’s no right way to respond when someone asks if you’re ticklish.
If you say no, they’ll tickle you. If you say yes, they’ll tickle you.
So we’ve decided that since prevention isn’t an option, we need to know how to react in order to minimise damage.
The following technique is based on the premise that you can’t tickle yourself because your brain can predict what’s going to happen.
According to Dr. Emily Grossman, the best way to employ this mechanism is by putting your hand on the hand of the person tickling you.
When you do this, the tickling sensation should disappear as your brain starts to predict the movements of their hands.
And voila, one less thing to worry about.
