Twelve-year-old Matthew Flores of Salt Lake City is testament to this fact.
Matthew loves to read but couldn’t always afford the pleasure.
His family don’t have a car and can’t afford the bus to the library meaning that the youngster had resorted to reading junk mail that came through his letter box.
When he approached postman Ron Lynch and asked if he had any extra ads, Ron was so moved that he took to Facebook to make an appeal to his friends.
Turns out others were just as moved as Ron, as Matthew soon received over 350 books from all over the world.
Matthew has said that he plans on sharing all his new books with his friends.
