What Makes A Gentleman? Someone Who Makes Love On His Elbows Apparently!

Country Life magazine have put together a list of do’s and don’t’s when it comes to what makes a gentleman.

To mark the launch of their Gentleman of the Year Award, Country Life magazine has put together a list of the things that make a guy a gentleman (and subsequently made our day).

Apparently, a modern gentleman is someone who is always on time, puts those around him at ease and dresses for the occasion.

They are also mindful of the financial circumstances of people and makes love on his elbows (don’t worry, it took us a while to figure that one out too).

As for the things a gentleman shouldn’t do, that list is a little longer and much more specific.

So they shouldn’t own a cat, use Twitter, plant gladioli (a type of flower) or get too drunk (a few is okay but having a Malibu is a huge no no).

Lycra (thank the Lord) is off limits. So too are hair products, pre-tied bow ties, ballpoint pens and fuchsia trousers… reckon that probably rules out the majority of the male population then!

We’d totally make an exception for Tom Hardy and his cat.
