Sick of earning less money than your male counterparts? For one night, at least, you can toast the difference.
Doctor Who themed bar The Way Station is the place to be next Tuesday, July 7th, as for one night only women will be asked to pay 77 per cent of their tab.
The promotion reflects the 2012 Census Bureau survey, which found that women are still paid just 77 cents for every dollar earned by their male counterparts.
The Brooklyn bar issued a press release describing the pay gap as “”some shameful shit”, adding that the aim of the event is to “level the playing field, even if it is just for one night.”
“Women deserve better. Recognising this discrepancy is just a start.”
