She’s been on our screens for over 30 years, a household name, THE talk show host, the woman who gets the interviews that everyone wants to see, a host that celebrities trust to present their story; Oprah Winfrey really is a force to be reckoned with.
Today, the Queen of the Talk Show turns 60 years of age and in order to celebrate that we are taking a look back at the career of one of the most notable women on television.
Here are her finest moments.
1. THAT Tom Cruise interview.
Tom and Katie Holmes had just got together and Tom really wanted to tell the whole world about it. Honestly, did this actually happen? Yes. We think it did.
2. The Lance Armstrong Interview
The Armstrong revelations shook the world. A world class seven-time Tour de France winner, Armstrong finally admitted that he had been doping, and not just recently but for most of his career. Who got that interview? Oprah.
3. AUSSTRALLLLIAAAA
Who brought their entire audience to Australia? Oprah, that’s who. They were all slightly delighted about it too.
Got that?

4. The Flash Mob.
The Black Eyed Peas perform their track I Gotta Feeling but what happened with the audience was absolutely amazing. Even Oprah thought so.
5. Because she interviews the President and his wife.
Yes, besties.
6. The Oprah Book Club
Oprah really figured out how to market that book club and a lot of writers will forever be thankful for being featured on the show.
7. The Truddi Chase Interview
A very disturbing interview with a woman who suffered horrific sexual abuse before she ran away from home at 16. Oprah literally broke down in the interview but the entire piece is spectacular. This might be incredibly disturbing for some.
8. Ellen DeGeneres Comes Out
It should never be news that someone admits that they are gay but this moment was pretty amazing.
9. Oprah reveals she has a half-sister.
A moment that we couldn’t actually believe was happening but unbelievably touching.
