A wise man once said, “there aren’t enough proposal videos on the Internet”.
Okay nobody said that because proposal videos are a dime a dozen. They’re never ending.
So standing out from the crowd is obviously a very tricky feat. Alas, Ray Smith from Grimsby has won many a fan for his novel proposal to his girlfriend Claire.
Rays proposal has gone viral for the simple reason that he proposed to Claire almost every day without her realizing. Ray took a selfie with Claire every day for 5 months, concealing the message “Will You Marry Me?” on a small piece of card.
“I have been planning to propose for a while and I knew I wanted to do something romantic, so I originally thought about popping the question in a hot air balloon,” he said. “But then in June we received some great news that Claire was expecting a baby, which put a stop to that plan. So I had to have a rethink.”
“I searched online for unusual proposals and I saw ideas like flash mobs and that sort of thing. So I decided to come up with my own idea to take a picture every day for five months.”
The selfies not only demonstrate his 5-month commitment, but also his girlfriends slight, but highly entertaining, ignorance.
