For all those fans of hit series How I met Your Mother who may have been slightly disappointed with the end of the series, there is a treat in store.
Just ahead of the release of the show’s DVD, an alternative ending has been revealed to fans. Thousands were left slightly put out after the show’s finale, with many believing the show’s producers had take a ‘cop-out’ for the ending as shown below:
However, new footage, which was filmed at the same time, shows a new twist on how it all could have been.
They teased us for the entire last season with the ultimate climax, the big reveal of who the ‘mother’ really was, and also with the setting up of the love affair between Barney and Robin.
Yet in the season finale, she got killed off and Ted ended up with Robin – not what we were hoping for at all.
There was a collective outcry of – what on earth?! – when the episode aired.
But HIMYM fans now have the opportunity to see these wrongs fixed through the new clip. Although a big ball of cheese where everybody gets their happy ending it sits a lot better than the original.
The news was hinted at back in April when reports suggested that Carter Bays, co-creator of the show, had tweeted that there was another ending.
