Some lucky sod is woke up yesterday morning over two and a half million euro richer.
One player pocketed the enviable €2,578,134 jackpot after buying a regular ticket for Saturday’s draw.
The winning numbers were 9, 18, 23, 27, 31, 38 and the bonus number was 30.
The ticket was bought in the Spar in Ferrybank, Waterford City. Locals are now wondering whether it was someone from the area who won the prize.
Daniel Mital, manager of the shop said he’s delighted with the win.
Speaking to The Mirror he said:
“I could not believe it at first. It is very exciting and all the staff are talking about it.
“Loads of people called into the shop on Sunday asking about it.
“I was finished work and was back at home at 10 pm on Saturday when I got the call from the National Lottery to say we had sold the winning ticket.”
