Want to Rent a Room in Dublin? You’ll Need A Degree for That

And the list of requirements just keeps on growing...

Rebecca McKnight

Team Her.ie are no strangers to the torture that is renting in the capital.

When it comes to finding a housemate, our usual requirements are pretty simple: don’t eat all our food, take out the bins once in a while and keep your Super Happy Fun Sexy noises down where possible.

It seems the checklist is becoming ever more complicated though, if this newly listed room is anything to go by.

In addition to finding €455 per month to finance your double bedroom in Dublin’s Phibsborough, you’ll need a third level qualification.

According to the advert: “Third level qualification is required as the existing house mates are all either professionals or post graduate students.”

It doesn’t specify if you need to bring your actual degree to the viewings but maybe you should, just in case.

You’ll find the advert in full here.
