An experiment, carried out by a YouTuber called NorniTUBE, shows just how important appearances are and how they can affect the actions of others.
In it, the Frenchman dresses in scruffy clothing and pretends to collapse on the streets of Paris. Passers-by continue walking without so much as a second glance.
He then repeats this but on the second occasion, he wears a suit and tie. The difference, as you may have guessed, is remarkable.
The clip entitled ‘Le poids des apparences’ (‘The importance of appearances’) has gone viral with over a million views in 24 hours.
