Heart-melting stuff.
Norwood Thomas was a fighter pilot during World War II and during a quick visit to London with his unit, he met Joyce Morris.
Joyce was 17 and Norwood 21 when they started dating but after the war, Norwood was forced to return home to America.
They wrote letters to each others and Norwood asked Joyce to travel to America but somehow, this message was lost in translation.
They lost touch and CBS reports that years later, Joyce asked her son to look up Norwood’s name online and they saw him featured in a D-Day article in The Virginia-Pilot newspaper.
Joyce and Norwood reconnected via Skype and then a GoFund me campaign helped Thomas finance a trip from his home in Virginia Beach to Joyce’s home in Australia.
The reunion was broadcast on Channel 10’s The Project and as can be seen in the above image, they are the picture of happiness.
